Afternoon Traffic Pattern

Since the 4th marking period began we have happily seen an increase in student attendance.  As expected we have also seen an increase in traffic during both arrival and dismissal.  Perhaps because of COVID concerns, the increase in parental drop-off and pick-up has been disproportionate to the actual increase in attendance.  The congestion has been worse than when we were at full in-person attendance before COVID.

Beginning Monday, May 3, the following adjustments will be made to the afternoon traffic pattern in order to alleviate some of the congestion:

High School

  • Parent vehicles picking up at the high school will be directed through the wide lane in between the teacher parking lot and the bus lanes.
  • The traffic pattern at the high school will resemble the morning drop off.
  • There will be no access to the teacher parking lot.
  • The “S curve” (the area by the tennis courts that has a yellow painted curb and no parking signs everywhere) will be coned off and no cars will be permitted to idle there.
  • There is no parent pick-up in the senior parking lot (the first parking lot on the left).

Middle School

  • Parent vehicles should form a carline from the middle school's gymnasium doors
  • Cars are asked to pull forward whenever possible so that other cars may also pull forward along the curb.
  • Whenever possible, please also refrain from having your engine idle.
If families are comfortable, we encourage students to take the bus.  If you want to pick up your child but do not wish wait in traffic, the campus empties out by 12:35 p.m. You may pick up your child then.

Please exercise extreme caution when driving through our campus.  Children are everywhere.  Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation and support.
