MS Math Students Welcome Dr. Esha Parikh ’16

Students in several 8th Grade Math classes recently had the exciting opportunity to welcome back West Essex alumna Dr. Esha Parikh, Class of 2016. A former West Essex Middle School student herself, Dr. Parikh returned to share her educational journey and career path with current students.

After graduating from West Essex High School, Dr. Parikh earned a full scholarship to Nova Southeastern University, where she studied biology and behavioral neuroscience before attending medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is currently completing her OB/GYN residency at Hackensack University Hospital.

During her visit, students asked thoughtful questions about her experiences in school, college, and medical training, gaining valuable insight into the hard work, determination, and perseverance required to achieve a lifelong goal. Hearing firsthand from a former Knight who followed her passion and is now making a difference in the lives of others was both inspiring and memorable.

We are grateful to Dr. Parikh for returning to West Essex and encouraging the next generation of students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals. A big shoutout to Mrs. Maria Smith for organizing this event!
