On Friday, June 5, West Essex proudly hosted its annual Move-Up Day, giving students and staff a preview of the upcoming school year. The event provides students with the learn about next year’s expectations.

More than 100 West Essex Middle School students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this spring, earning recognition for their excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service.

Students in several 8th Grade Math classes recently had the exciting opportunity to welcome back West Essex alumna Dr. Esha Parikh ’16. Dr. Parikh to shared her educational journey and career path with current students.

On May 14, 2026, at the Essex County School Boards Association Meeting held at WEHS, Board President Maryadele Wojtowicz was honored for her 20 years of exemplary service to the Board of Education and the school community.

Class of 2026 Valedictorian Talia Machin and Salutatorian Siena Jacobs were recognized on May 12 at the Essex County Academic Awards Ceremony, celebrating their outstanding academic achievement and leadership at WEHS.

West Essex Middle School held its annual TREP$ Fair on April 23, transforming the cafeteria into a vibrant marketplace. Community members were invited to shop the student-run businesses and support the young entrepreneurs.
